Thanks a lot Ron! Appreciate it 🙂
I like your interview format, it if factual and informative and gives agood insight to the artist. You may have to work on doing something that will make your blog more unique and individual, this will make your commentary of wider appeal. so for example where you hear the likes of edith bowman (And Zane also does this) interview she puts her style on the interview by asking what the artists preferences are eg; Everly Brothers or Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac or The clash; bananas or nectarines, these silly quaestions add a dimension to the interview that can take you to different discussion points.
Other individual styles like Dom, on Chris Moyles primes the artist with silly quastions , what is your favourite Cheese? , stuipid but you can add your own style and bizarre questions which beocome a trade mark of your interview.
The point of your interview however is to get the artist to talk about their music and their musical influeneces and that is the strength of your interview. Compating to the likes of an NME interview and a Q magazine review ..these tend to be the only music magazine reviews I read, the NME is written an a manner to sound cool, and a little obtuse, for that reason I switch off when reading, however Q magazine will focus on factual accurate descriptions that I can understand. I guess its apersonal preference and whilst you explore the writing techniques of reviewing you can experiment with different styles to build your knowledge and styles.
I look forward to catching up with your commentary over time.
Wow, thanks a lot Ron for the feedback, I’ll be sure to incorporate your ideas into future interviews! I’m still trying to find my niche right now, but I’m sure it’ll come in time.
Thanks again for stopping by 🙂
I’ve just discovered Soundhall. Only been on here about 30 seconds but I think I’ll stay a while. This, I’ve been looking for.
