Orla Gartland – The Ground

Irish singer/songwriter Orla Gartland released her hugely-anticipated debut single “Devil On My Shoulder” yesterday, which was ably backed by “The Ground“, a blues-influenced ditty that stands to be one of her most loved songs. We’ve had only the, admittedly incredible, acoustic version to cope with for the past few weeks and months, but the final mix seems to be a sensational manifestation of the sheer atmosphere of the track – showcasing progressive instrumentation, culminating in a piece of production that suits the sort of vulnerability of Orla’s voice perfectly. There’s always a danger that the emotion of a track gets lost as it gets put onto record, but it would appear as though the opposite is the case here.

Absolutely adore this song, grab your copy (along with “Devil On My Shouler“) from iTunes HERE.
